SECHSKIES held first-ever fan meeting event in Japan since debut
[동아닷컴=최윤나 기자] SECHSKIES has successfully hosted their first-ever fan meeting event in Japan.
After hosting a fan meeting event in Korea recently in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their debut, SECHSKIES met Japanese fans in fan meeting event “SECHSKIES JAPAN FAN MEETING 2017” held on the 23 this month at Kanagawa YOKOHAMA BAY HALL.
Many local fans flocked to see SECHSKIES who made an official debut in Japan by releasing “‘THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY -Japan Edition-“ on July 19 this year, 20 years after their debut in Korea.
SECHSKIES came upon the stage with great acclamations. The members first greeted fans and talked about how they have been recently. Then, diverse and rich contents including quiz competition and games were provided during the event.
SECHSKIES also presented performances of hit songs including “Com’ Back”, “BE WELL”, and “SAD SONG” in Japanese, to heat up the atmosphere and all the fans sang along the songs. Notably, when the performance of SECHSKIES’ greatest hit song “Couple” began, fans shouted out “SECHSKIES” with big acclamations.
SECHSKIES said, “We want to spend this kind of pleasant time with you more in the future. We’ll show you even better performances”, promising to more actively present themselves to fans both in and out of the country.
YG’s head producer YANG HYUN SUK directly visited SECHSKIES’ first fan meeting, to root for the team. On the previous day, YANG had dinner with SECHSKIES and posted his photo with SECHSKIES on his personal Instagram account, to draw keen attention.
SECHSKIES swept No.1 on music charts in Korea since their reunion last year. The team also proved the potential for their overseas success by taking No.1 on Kugou, one of the three major music-streaming websites in China, and No. 9 on Billboard world albums chart, without any overseas promotion. SECHSKIES is expected to enjoy remarkable popularity in Japan as well.
SECHSKIES has recently been meeting fans in and out of the country by releasing a new album and hosting art exhibition and fan meeting events, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their debut. SECHSKIES will host another fan meeting in Japan on September 3 at Namba Hatch, Osaka, Japan.
