In tvN’s “New Journey to the West 4” show aired on June 20, SONG MINHO surprised everyone by setting higher-than-expected records in every game. In the process, SONG MINHO broke away from his past nickname of “idiot”, showing an upgraded character and making everyone burst into big laughter.

In the episode of “New Journey to the West 4” aired on June 20, the cast members engaged in a competition of correctly guessing the names of famous people over Vietnamese home meal. If someone asks “Brad”, the other members had to answer “Pitt”. Many wrong answers were given and the members began to feel worried. Eventually, the cast members of the show decided to attack the one who gives the wrong answer with bad language and resolved their will to win the foods.

Another round of game began and SONG MINHO answered “Ano”, not “Marceau”, to a question “Sophie”, to embarrass everyone. Then, SONG MINHO nonchalantly insisted that there is a person named “Sophie Ano”. The other members searched for “Sophie Ano” on the Internet, but failed to find out anyone with such a name and Kyuhyun hurled abuses at SONG MINHO as promised, to create a hilarious scene.

Before beginning the next game, the members changed the rule, saying, “Let’s not openly say the words that cannot be broadcasted. Let’s just say them in a whisper directly into the ear”. In the next round, Kang Hodong gave a wrong answer to “Galileo Galilei”. While everyone else was hesitating to swear at Kang, SONG MINHO silently approached him and gave him a whisper. Kang was dumbfounded and said, “That was a curse I’ve never heard of”, to make everyone burst into laughter.

That was not the end. In a game of pinpointing a tiny spot on a dart board after making 15 turns, SONG MINHO exactly pointed the intended spot in every turn, to rise as “the finger of the God”. Eventually, SONG even pointed a spot where the production staff of the show jokingly wrote a gift of a luxury imported car. The show’s producer Na Young-seok had to kneel down to cancel the gift. The staff gave five dragon balls and a coupon to grant a wish instead of the car worth 600 million won, to make an apology and make the cast members feel triumphant.

In the previous season of “New Journey to the West” show, SONG MINHO created hilarious scenes by wearing the clothes of a girl’s character in cartoon after losing a game and confessing his hair loss in another game of picking the most unhappy person to have the best lunchbox. In a four-character word quiz, SONG MINHO gave a series of hilariously wrong answers to make everyone burst into big laughter and gained a nickname of “SONG idiot” following Ahn Jae-hyun who boasted his innocence in the four-character word quiz in season 2 and Kyuhyun who faced big difficulties early in season 3.

Producer Shin Hyo-jeong of “New Journey to the West 4” show said in an interview with Sports Chosun, “MINHO and Kyuhyun got a lot of new nicknames. You will be able to see their new characters in the new season. They have become even more upgraded while fulfilling existing expectations for them. SONG MINHO fully reveals his new fun character to the extent that his nickname of ‘idiot’ might be forgotten. He was so popular among the cast members”.

In fact, SONG MINHO boasted even further upgraded wit and humor, shaving his head after losing a table tennis match against Kang Hodong and frightening the staff with one finger.
