[일간스포츠=이미현 기자] AKMU has come back, boasting remarkable artistic growth they have achieved for the past eight months.

As it was hinted already, AKMU presented a much more matured sensibility in their new album than their last album “SPRING” released in May last year.

AKMU released their new album “WINTER” on January 3, at 0 o’clock. Upon its release, the album is enjoying great popularity for AKMU’s flagship sensibility, taking No.1 on five music charts.

“LAST GOODBYE” and “REALITY”, the double title tracks of AKMU’s new album, have contrasting feels. “LAST GOODBYE” is a ballad with charming acoustic guitar melody, riff, and string sound, added by AKMU’s impressively appealing vocal. The song boasts AKMU’s flagship sensibility that talks about a feeling of missing ex-lover.

“Just being beside you, I was so happy/Don’t remember that badly”.

AKMU’s LEE CHAN HYUK who wrote all the songs in the new album expressed his special affection for “LAST GOODBYE”, saying, “The song was written from my own experience, so it is my favorite song”.

“REALITY”, the other title track of the album, is a modern folk pop song with cheerful sound production and AKMU’s narration.

YG Entertainment explained, “The song talks about the innocence in adolescence with AKMU’s flagship cheerful and witty lyrics”.

“I make too little money to take a taxi/but subway is packed with people/when I check my bank balance on my smartphone/I have to lower the brightness”.

That kind of lyrics is something that only AKMU can write. The witty lyrics and catchy melody make listeners naturally move their bodies to the song.

LEE CHAN HYUK’s outstanding observation and sensibility are well displayed in AKMU’s new album. LEE CHAN HYUK’s unique sensibility was extolled for the witty lyrics of “How People Move”, a song that was included in AKMU’s last album “SPRING”. The song was written based on LEE’s unique idea that “how people move is marvelous”.

AKMU’s new album has total eight songs including the double title tracks and “Live”, “Play Ugly”, “CHOCOLADY”, “YOU KNOW ME”, “Way Back Home”, and “Will Last Forever”. AKMU’s LEE CHAN HYUK wrote the melody and lyrics of all the songs. The sequence of the songs represents the flow of time for people, from the moment of birth to growth, and then coming back home finally to recollect past memories.
