[일간스포츠 이승미기자] PSY’s and TAEYANG’s videos were the most viewed K-Pop MVs in the U.S. and around the world; ranking #1 and #2.
According to Billboard on July 3 (local date), the most viewed K-Pop video in the U.S. was PSY’s “HANGOVER.” It was followed by TAEYANG’s “EYES, NOSE, LIPS” and “1AM”—the top rankings were dominated by YG artists. The most viewed K-Pop video around the world in June was also PSY’s “HANGOVER” followed by TAEYANG’s “EYES, NOSE, LIPS,” and “1AM” closely followed by ranking #4.
Billboard wrote, “Led by the YouTube King himself, K-pop acts racked up millions of views throughout June. Unsurprisingly, PSY’s “Hangover” video was the most viewed K-pop music video both in America and around the globe with TAEYANG […] ranking high across the board.”
“HANGOVER” featuring Snoop Dogg has earned more than 90 million views since its June 8 reveal,” wrote Billboard. PSY’s video is about to reach 100 million views, as it surpassed 90 million on July 5 (Korean date).
It added, “His Korean labelmate TAEYANG has snagged more than 11 million views with his “Eyes, Nose, Lips” and takes second place in both rankings. TAEYANG’s follow up vid “1AM” was the month’s third most-watched in America, and fourth globally, further proving the singer’s stateside interest following his Billboard 200 record-breaking “Rise” LP.”
TAEYANG has been sweeping across daily, weekly, and monthly online charts with his latest track “EYES, NOSE, LIPS” revealed at midnight of June 2.
