PSY’s “HANGOVER” hits 20m views in 32 hours
[OSEN=김사라 기자] The M/V of PSY’s new song “HANGOVER” attracted whopping 20 million views in just 32 hours of its release.
The video released on June 9 at 8:10 (Korean time) attracted 25.464 million views by 3:55 on June 10. It also raked in 270,679 Likes.
PSY broke the record of YouTube when his previous “GENTLEMAN” attracted 18 million views in 24 hours. His “HANGOVER,” despite being an advance-release song, stands neck-and-neck with the predecessor title track.
“HANGOVER” is written together by PSY and Snoop Dogg, and Yoo Geon Hyung, who worked with PSY on “GENTLEMAN” and “GANGNAM STYLE” composed the latest song with the artist. Directed by Cha Eun Taek, the video spotlights PSY’s wit. A Korean gong, English, rapping, boilermaker, Wolmido and Snoop Dogg together make the video more fun.
Foreign media are also spotlighting it. Billboard described it “hilarious,” while Time wrote “delightful.”
On May 31 PSY’s “GANGNAM STYLE” broke the record of YouTube by attracting 2 billion viewers. Many eyes are on “HANGOVER,” the already attention-catching video, to see what kind of record it will set.
Meanwhile, PSY is to release a new song “DADDY” this summer.
