Will PSY’s “HANGOVER” M/V propagate Korean culture of soju, karaoke & sauna?
[마이데일리 = 신소원 기자] As the M/V of PSY’s new song “HANGOVER” is unveiled, the expectation for it is building up since some scenes hint a revelation of Korean culture.
On PSY’s official YouTube channel, the preview video of America’s ABC talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night” was uploaded. In the clip, parts of “HANGOVER” M/V were unveiled while also revealing that PSY and Snoop Dogg will appear together on June 8 (American eastern time).
The very short clip included scenes of various Korean cultures. As the honorary ambassador of soju, who introduced the alcoholic drink to many musicians all across the globe when “GANGNAM STYLE” became viral, PSY takes turn drinking soju with Snoop Dogg.
PSY enjoys the public sauna with the hiphop legend while eating rice balls and cup noodle from the convenience store. They play pool in suits and sing at karaoke. The clips hint that the latest video will be as entertaining as “GANGNAM STYLE” and “GENTLEMAN.”
As the clip shows the two world-renown artists candidly enjoying the Korean culture of sauna, convenience store, pool and karaoke, expectations for the M/V and the song itself are only heightening.
Jimmy Kimmel show to be aired on June 8 will unveil the entire “HANGOVER” M/V, and on June 9 at 1 pm (Korean time), the song will be released simultaneously and exclusively through iTunes all across the world.
