[Exclusive] Psy Has Finalized Title of New Album… Imminent Comeback
[OSEN=손남원 기자] World-star Psy is known to have finalized the title track of his new album that will be released on the global stage following “Gangnam style” and “Gentleman”. He is now rounding off preparations for his comeback.
According to music insiders on the 9 this month, Psy has been pondering upon which song he should choose as the title track for his new album, among a number of songs produced through months-long hard-work. Then, he finally selected one of them and began recording works last week. However, as of now, nobody can predict when the new song will be released, whether it will be within this year or early next year.
One of Psy’s associates said “Psy has never wanted to easily release a new album quickly after “Gangnam Style” and “Gentleman”’s success to take advantage of it. Rather, he is paying more attention and making extra efforts (for comeback).
That is why he has put so much time and effort in making and choosing the title for his comeback. Now that the title song has been selected, it is true that his comeback is imminent, but the exact date will be decided after all the works are completed. Until he himself (Psy) thinks that all the preparations are completed, he will not release (the new song).”
Psy has been working on his new album with songwriters including Yoo Gun Hyung, Psy’s partner songwriter who jointly worked for “Gangnam Style” and “Gentleman” with him. On July 30, Psy said on his Twitter “Already done with 3 songs and they are kinda nice”, and the remark has heightened fans’ expectations.
Accordingly, as Psy has finalized the title song by himself, the process for his comeback is expected to be taken speedily. He may surprisingly announce his comeback at his concert scheduled for the end of this month. Psy’s concert at the end of this year will be held at Olympic Park’s Gymnastics Hall located in Seoul, for four days from the 20 to 24 this month. Notably, he will hold two concerts on the 24, the Christmas Eve, so total five concerts are scheduled.
Conversely, if he wants to “put new wine in new bottles”, he may keep the comeback schedule secret until the end of his year. Now, it seems that the exact date of Psy’s comeback is dependent on his decision.
