[OSEN=황미현 기자] Boy band Big Bang’s lead singer G-Dragon is continuously covered by famous media outlets in the USA and UK.

The influence of G-Dragon, who has recently released his second full solo album, is extending overseas, going beyond Korea. Foreign media outlets referred to G-Dragon as the most influential figure in the K-Pop world, along with some other famous singers.

USA’s men’s magazine COMPLEX spotlighted G-Dragon in an article published on its web-site on the 11, introducing him as a world-famous Asian pop star. COMPLEX praised G-Dragon by saying, “He is a phenomenon bigger than K-Pop itself and he has been consolidating his place in the niche of the world of music, while sticking to his own style. If there is any Asian singer who will be successful in the American market, it is highly likely to be G-Dragon.”

American music channel FUSE TV has also covered G-Dragon. In FUSE TV’s “Fall Music Preview: FUSE’s 30 Most-Anticipated Albums”, G-Dragon’s “COUP D’ETAT” was listed and FUSE TV explained, “G-Dragon is the lead singer of Korea’s most popular boy band Big Bang, and super stars such as Missy Elliott, Diplo, and Baauer featured for his new album, which encompasses a variety of genres.”

In addition, on the same day, G-Dragon won FUSE TV’s voting to select the top new artist in the international pop genre, beating Mexican female singer Belinda.

Furthermore, UK’s fashion magazine DAZED selected G-Dragon’s “COUP D’ETAT” as one of the top 10 music videos of the month. DAZED posted an article titled “Top 10 Music Videos of the Month” on its official web-site on the 11 (KST) and mentioned G-Dragon saying, “Super-famous boy band Big Bang’s G-Dragon has made comeback with songs featured by Diplo and Baauer. His music video is mostly monochromic, but it stirs up imagination.”

Meanwhile, on the 13 this month, G-Dragon is releasing his second full album that includes another version of “WINDOW” and “BLACK” featured by Sky Ferreira.
