“The beginning of Act 2 is as a romantic”… TREASURE, YANG HYUN SUK's confidence was justified
[스포츠서울=함상범 기자] “If the past 5 years were TREASURE’s Act 1, then this album will mark the beginning of Act 2.” That was the statement from YANG HYUN SUK, the executive producer of YG Entertainment. It was a short sentence, yet full of confidence. Alongside this remark, the choreography video for TREASURE’s new song ‘EVERYTHING’ was unveiled, two weeks before the official album release.An extremely rare move. Despite being a simple choreography video, it surpassed 14 million views.
YANG’s confidence is packed into TREASURE’s (CHOI HYUN SUK, JIHOON, YOSHI, JUNKYU, YOON JAE HYUK, ASAHI, DOYOUNG, HARUTO, PARK JEONG WOO, SO JUNG HWAN) 3rd mini album ‘Love Pulse’. TREASURE, who had previously shown off their masculine energy through intense and powerful performances, has now transformed into “romantics.” It’s a concept they’ve
never attempted before, an expansion of their musical spectrum.
JUNKYU said, “Recently, we’ve shown a different side of TREASURE through songs with youthful and fresh emotions. This time, we’ve taken another leap of change. The music, performance, and
visuals all present a completely new concept we’ve never tried before.”
They sing about the various emotions of love. The album contains a total of four tracks: the retro-feel disco funk title track ‘PARADISE’, the bright and refreshing synth sound of ‘EVERYTHING’, the
dreamy and addictive melody of ‘NOW FOREVER’, and the warm and delicate vocals of ‘BETTER THAN ME’. PARK JEONG WOO explained, “This album reminded me again of how diverse and subtly complex the emotion of love can be. From pure and passionate confessions to heartbreaking moments of farewell, we thought deeply about how we could express them in TREASURE’s own color.”
The title track ‘PARADISE’ expresses a confession of love in an upbeat atmosphere. It tells the story that the time spent with the one you love is nothing short of paradise. It’s both playful and romantic. Combined with TREASURE’s refreshing choreography, it’s sweet both to listen to and to watch.
The music video is also bright. TREASURE gathers at a serene resort, dancing and singing joyfully with smiles on their faces. The beautiful scenery blends seamlessly with TREASURE. The
unexpected use of surreal CGI in certain shots adds visual delight.
YOON JAE HYUK said, “It feels like the song is telling us, ‘The star-filled sky, the cool breeze, and everything beautiful in the world exist just for us, this is our paradise.’ It’s a song that warms the
heart.”
There’s also strong interest in the track ‘EVERYTHING’. The anticipation was sparked when Executive Producer YANG unusually released the choreography video in advance.
JUNKYU said, “‘EVERYTHING’ is a song we kept as a potential title track until the very end, it’s that complete, and we’re deeply attached to it. At first listen, it might feel like just a bright and cheerful song, but the lyrics hold a desperate heart toward someone you love, which creates a special twist.”
The global fans’ enthusiasm is no joke. Just about a month after pre-orders began on August 4, the album surpassed 1 million in pre-order volume, signaling the arrival of a million-seller. Starting with the Seoul KSPO DOME from October 10 to 12, TREASURE will kick off their ‘2025-26 TREASURE TOUR [PULSE ON]’, which will continue into Japan and across Asia.
ASAHI said, “We’re going to run forward with all our strength so we can repay the unwavering love of our TREASURE MAKERs (our fandom).
