BABYMONSTER Collaborates with Google Pixel in Japan….Draws Major Project Offers
[OSEN=지민경 기자] Even before their official debut in Japan, YG’s next-generation girl group BABYMONSTER is already making waves with significant projects with local industries. According to YG Entertainment, BABYMONSTER has been hosting the ‘Google Pixel IMAGINATION STUDIO with BABYMONSTER’ event at SHIBUYA TSUTAYA in Tokyo from March 29th until the upcoming 13th. Located right in front of the world-famous Shibuya Scramble Crossing, this major shopping mall attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors daily and has been bustling with crowds since its first day.
The event space features life-sized acrylic stands of BABYMONSTER members starting from the 1st floor ‘IMAGINATION TOUR’ to the basement ‘DIVE INTO MUSIC VIDEO,’ which incorporates the worldview of their music videos such as ‘DRIP’ and ‘Really Like You’ into its design. The venue is staged on a grand scale, with each area showcasing BABYMONSTER’s signature logos and designs from their debut album [DRIP], adding a unique flair to the setting.
The event offered a variety of booths full of fun and sights to see. One notable experience was the opportunity to create personal BABYMONSTER photos using the Google Pixel 9 Pro, a smartphone equipped with Google’s AI technology, sold in Japan and some other regions (excluding Korea). Attendees could also enjoy gift giveaways, tour products, and pre-sales of new merchandise, greatly satisfying fans. Additionally, spaces were arranged for fans to send messages to the members.
Even before their official entry into Japan, BABYMONSTER has been receiving project offers from the local industry, demonstrating their substantial local influence and popularity beyond mere buzz. Following the Google project, BABYMONSTER uniquely participated in ‘Sony Park展 2025’ Part2, widening their public engagement among K-pop artists. They are also set to leave a mark with their first original Japanese song ‘Ghost,’ as the chosen performers of the theme for the highly anticipated local movie ‘Mieruko-chan.’
The ‘2025 BABYMONSTER 1st WORLD TOUR ‘HELLO MONSTERS’ IN JAPAN’ is also underway, attracting an audience of 100,000. Due to explosive demand, the tour schedule has expanded to 12 performances across four cities, maintaining strong momentum. The group will meet fans in Kanagawa from the 11th to the 13th before concluding the tour in Fukuoka.
