[이데일리 스타in=윤기백 기자] YG Entertainment announced through its official blog that BABYMONSTER’s debut full album “DRIP” will be released on November 1st. The news was revealed today.

In a video released today, YG EXECUTIVE PRODUCER YANG HYUN SUK personally explained the nine tracks included in BABYMONSTER’s album “DRIP,” attracting attention with his detailed presentation. He shared his hopes and ambitions for a special pre-promotion plan and a global tour starting next year.

BABYMONSTER, completely managed from the start by YANG HYUN SUK, officially debuted as a seven-member group on April 1st this year. Despite being newcomers, YG highlighted their impressive global achievements, which are astonishingly strong.

BABYMONSTER achieved a new record for the highest first-week sales for a debut K-pop girl group album with their mini-album “BABYMONSTER,” selling 401,287 copies. The music video for the title track “SHEESH” has recently reached 300 million views on YouTube, and their dance video has surpassed 150 million views, making a remarkable impact in the global market. Their fandom is also nearing 7 million subscribers.

Interest in BABYMONSTER’s first full album is heating up. YANG commented, “I really like this album,” showing his unique confidence in the tracks. Starting this week, YG’s daring new strategy involves pre-releasing about one minute of two non-title album tracks each week, adding to the anticipation for their comeback.

“DRIP” consists of nine tracks. The first track, “CLIK CLAK,” was described by YANG as “a strong hip-hop song with an originality never before seen at YG,” with all seven members stepping forward as rappers. This marks a new musical attempt for BABYMONSTER and opens the album powerfully.

The second track, which shares the album’s name “DRIP,” is described by YANG as “a song that makes people of all ages want to dance. Expect the passionate performance that BABYMONSTER will deliver,” adding that “G-DRAGON has contributed to composing the music, completing a great song.”

Other tracks include “Love, Maybe,” showcasing beautiful vocals over guitar play; “Really Like You,” with its 90s hip-hop vibe; “BILLIONAIRE,” featuring a heavy 808 bass with an R&B sound to bring out Y2K vibes; “Love In My Heart,” a lively song for all ages; “Woke Up In Tokyo” (RUKA & ASA), capturing a hip-hop vibe exclusive to the Japanese members; the pre-release track “FOREVER”; and the fan meeting encore song “BATTER UP” (Remix).

This full album is a mega project supported fully by YG. While it’s common to shoot one or two music videos for a regular album, YANG stated, “For this BABYMONSTER album, we plan to shoot at least three music videos,” showing his extraordinary love and confidence for BABYMONSTER’s first album.

Regarding new choreography, YANG said, “I’ve been responsible for all choreography for YG artists like BIGBANG, 2NE1, and BLACKPINK for 28 years. While it’s not difficult, managing choreography for all the tracks simultaneously can be challenging with the world tour and all planned, but we will certainly produce great results.”

YANG further expressed his hopes that “fans can look forward to BABYMONSTER’s new songs each week until the album’s launch on November 1st.” He also revealed that the music video for “CLIK CLAK” will be pre-released two to three days before the album release, and emphasized, “We’ve kept the title track hidden to make a strong impact when it’s finally unveiled. We ask for the enthusiastic support of our global fans.”
