CL’s Surprise Appearance at TREASURE Concert: A Result of Meeting with YANG HYUN SUK?
[엑스포츠뉴스=장인영 기자] Former 2NE1 member CL made a surprise appearance at TREASURE’s concert, delighting fans with her presence. On August 15th, TREASURE held the finale of their second Asian tour, ‘REBOOT,’ at the KSPO Dome in Olympic Park, Songpa District, Seoul.
CL, as a special guest, emerged to shock and thrill the audience, who were not forewarned of her participation, responding with thunderous cheers.
During the event, CL performed solo hits such as “MTBD” and “Bad Girls,” showcasing her unwavering presence with dynamic rapping and compelling performances. Her participation at the concert of her former labelmates at YG Entertainment highlighted a heartwarming show of senior-junior camaraderie.
Previously, CL and the other 2NE1 members had caught the public eye with a full reunion at YG Entertainment in Hapjeong, Seoul, in June, their first in about eight years, which was orchestrated by YANG HYUN SUK, the Executive Producer. This meeting led to 2NE1 planning a series of solo concerts starting October 5-6 at Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, Seoul, and extending to cities like Osaka and Tokyo.
Their upcoming full-group concert, the first since the ‘ALL OR NOTHING’ tour in March 2014, has ignited fervent anticipation among fans, both domestic and international. Ticket sales witnessed a phenomenal rush, with around 400,000 people logging on simultaneously, leading to a quick sell-out for all shows. Even 2NE1 members faced challenges securing tickets, prompting YG to schedule an additional performance on October 4.
CL’s enthusiastic participation as a guest at TREASURE’s concert has significantly heightened expectations for 2NE1’s full-group performances.
