[텐아시아=윤준호 기자] BABYMONSTER, the new YG Entertainment girl group, is turning heads with their impressive debut. Their official debut track “SHEESH” is breaking records on domestic music charts, gaining momentum with each passing day.

According to YG Entertainment, “SHEESH” hit number 9 on Melon’s HOT100 at 9 AM on the 23rd, and even rose to 14th place on Melon’s TOP100, an impressive feat for a rookie group. This success is credited to the positive word-of-mouth surrounding the group’s live performance skills. Despite being over three weeks since its release on the 1st, the track continues to climb, drawing attention through music shows, YouTube content, and variety shows. This live prowess has not only wowed fans but also helped boost the song’s chart position.

Beyond Melon, “SHEESH” is enjoying similar success on other major domestic music platforms. It has secured the top spot on Naver Vibe’s real-time chart, ranks high on Bugs, and is climbing the charts on Genie and Flo, breaking its own records.

On the global stage, BABYMONSTER is also making waves. Their track has been on Spotify’s charts for 21 consecutive days, and they have achieved new highs on Billboard Global Excl. U.S and Billboard Global 200, reaching 23rd and 49th places respectively.

BABYMONSTER released their first mini-album, [BABYMONS7ER], on the 1st of April, solidifying their position as the next-generation K-pop girl group. The album sold over 401,287 copies in its first week, setting a new record for K-pop girl group debut albums. Additionally, the music video for their title track “SHEESH” surpassed 100 million views on YouTube within 10 days, setting a new record for a K-pop girl group debut music video.
