[헤럴드POP=정혜연 기자] YG’s rookie girl group BABYMONSTER has surpassed 4 million YouTube subscribers, showcasing their significant global appeal.

According to YG Entertainment on the 21st, BABYMONSTER’s official YouTube channel exceeded 4 million subscribers around 8:13 PM the previous day. This marks an explosive growth within less than a year since the channel’s launch.

Subscribers on YouTube, a leader in the global music market, are an indicator of a loyal fanbase. BABYMONSTER had already proven their overwhelming impact by attracting over 3.5 million subscribers during their pre-debut promotion period alone.

Especially notable was the surge in subscribers following the release of ‘BATTER UP’ on November 27. Gaining an additional 270,000 subscribers in just one day after their debut, the group continues to expand their fanbase. This growth is fueled by behind-the-scenes content highlighting the members’ charms, high-quality performance videos, and diverse covers that captivate global music fans.

Their YouTube content is also gaining popularity. The music video for ‘BATTER UP’ broke records with 2.59 million views in a single day, setting a new record for the most views in 24 hours for a K-pop debut song. It became the fastest K-pop group debut song to surpass 100 million views in approximately 18 days. Consequently, the official channel’s cumulative views now exceed 750 million.

Moreover, BABYMONSTER’s ‘BATTER UP,’ released on November 27, dominated the iTunes song charts in 21 countries upon debut, climbing to the top of the worldwide charts. It also secured positions in the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S charts, ranking 101st and 49th, respectively. On Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform, the song surpassed 10 million streams in just ten days, setting a new record for the fastest K-pop girl group debut song to achieve this milestone.
