YG’s TREASURE Surpasses 1.71 Million Copies Sold, Debut at Tokyo Dome in Japan
[스타뉴스=김수진 기자] YG 트레저가 Following the career high achieved with their second full album ‘REBOOT’, YG’s TREASURE is making their entry into Tokyo Dome, also known as the ‘stage of dreams’.
YG Entertainment announced on the 4th that TREASURE will hold their first Japanese fan meeting tour ‘2023 TREASURE FAN MEETING ~HELLO AGAIN~TOKYO DOME SPECIAL’ at the Tokyo Dome on November 12th. The previously announced fan meeting schedule recorded a sellout, which led to the addition of a special performance of a larger scale thanks to the enthusiastic response.
The response has been one of astonishment at TREASURE’s solid local fandom as they take the Tokyo Dome stage for the first time since their official debut in Japan in March 2021. Local media including Billboard Japan have reported this news, stating that TREASURE is “the first Korean artist to enter Tokyo Dome with their first Japanese fan meeting tour.”
TREASURE plans to hold a Japanese fan meeting in five cities with a total of 20 performances, including the special Tokyo Dome performance. Starting at Fukuoka International Center on September 2-3, they will move to Kobe World Memorial Hall in Hyogo Prefecture on September 8-10, Yokohama Pia Arena MM on September 16-18, Aichi Prefecture International Exhibition Center in Nagoya on September 23-24, and Ariake Arena in Tokyo on September 30-October 1, before wrapping up with a grand finale at Tokyo Dome on November 12th.
Meanwhile, anticipation is high for TREASURE’s another rise in Japan following their second full album comeback. The album ‘REBOOT’ has topped the Circle Chart album section, recording 1.71 million copies sold, including domestic sales and exports to Asia and North America.
YG stated, “As the amount of orders from the Asian region has increased following the successful tour, the growth in the Japanese market is particularly rapid. As major projects such as the fan meeting tour and pop-up stores in major cities are scheduled, the final sales volume is expected to increase even more.”
TREASURE has been steadily gaining popularity in Japan. They set a new record with their first Japanese tour at the beginning of the year, attracting the largest audience (about 300,000) for a first tour by a K-pop artist in Japan. Their recent title track ‘BONA BONA’ from their second full album has been loved and continues to maintain its position in the top ranks of various real-time music charts even a week after its release.
Meanwhile, TREASURE successfully staged their first comeback stage through Mnet’s ‘M! Countdown’ on the 3rd and will be appearing on various music shows including MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core’ on the 5th and SBS’s ‘Inkigayo’ on the 6th. They also plan to continue their active promotions on radio and variety shows.
