CHIQUITA, BABYMONSTER’s Youngest Trainee Who Trained the Shortes…YANG HYUN SUK “She’s Fearless”
[마이데일리=박윤진 기자] YG rookie girl group BABYMONSTER revealed the introduction video for their 5th member CHIQUITA, following RUKA, PHARITA, RORA, and ASA.
On the 23rd, YG Entertainment put up an introduction video of 13-year-old Thai trainee CHIQUITA. She was the youngest member among BABYMONSTER members, and was from Thailand, just like BLACKPINK LISA.
CHIQUITA joined the BABYMONSTER project just 3 months into becoming a YG trainee. YG Executive Producer YANG HYUN SUK captured CHIQUITA’s potential right away and said, “She has no fear. I wanted her to be part of the project right after seeing her first monthly evaluation stage.”
Under YG’s systematic training, CHIQUITA went through exponential growth. Her clear high-notes stood out when singing, and YG explained she continuously developed her own vocal style, shocking all the staff members.
Outside the practice room, she put a smile on the audience’s face by showing how she’s just a teenage girl. CHIQUITA had this amazing energy that lit up the room, but what made her smile the biggest, was her role-model BLACKPINK LISA. Despite LISA’s busy schedule, she decided to organize this meet-up for her younger YG trainees CHIQUITA and PHARITA.
LISA visited a Thai store with the two trainees and monitored their practice video and gave undivided advice and compliments. She also prepared special gifts for the two trainees, showing how tight YG artists can be.
YG Executive Producer YANG HYUN SUK said, “CHIQUITA is a very special kid as a producer. My hope is that she becomes just as popular as LISA one day and practices global influence.” PHARITA also said, “I’m going to become an artist that is loved globally”, showing how determined she is.
Meanwhile, BABYMONSTER is a rookie girl group YG is releasing 7 years after BLACKPINK, and most of them are in their teens. YG Executive Producer YANG HYUN SUK announced the release of the project himself, garnering great attention from the public.
