‘YG Rookie’ BABYMONSTER’s CHIQUITA Clip Reaches 4.24 million Views in 24 Hours
[JTBC=황소영 기자] Clips that portray YG’s next-generation girl group BABYMONSTER’s skills are garnering explosive responses from global music fans.
According to YG Entertainment on the 24th, the clip ‘BABYMONSTER (#3) – CHIQUITA (Live Performance)’ reached 4.24 million views within 24 hours of release after it was put up at 12:00AM the previous day, and ranked 4th on the ‘Most viewed videos within 24 hours’ globally.
CHIQUITA is a YG artist from Thailand, following the footsteps of LISA, and is the youngest among trainees that have gone public. She stole the hearts of viewers with her lovely visuals, soulful voice, and expression skills that made it difficult to believe she is only 13 years old.
Not only CHIQUITA’s clip, but all BABYMONSTER’s content are being loved by the public. Despite the fact they haven’t made their official debut, the number of their subscribers reached 630,000 and the cumulative views of their videos have reached 70 million. This feat is even more meaningful as the video solely focused on their skills without any extravagant video effects.
BABYMONSTER is a multi-national girl group YG is launching in 7 years since BLACKPINK and most of them are known to be in their teens. The group is drawing global attention as YANG HYUN SUK notified their debut himself after returning as a global executive producer in 3 years and 6 months.
