[OSEN=선미경 기자] Attention is being drawn to YG’s new girl group BABYMONSTER, as they’re garnering world-wide attention already, even before making their official debut.

According to YG Entertainment on the 20th, BABYMONSTER’s ‘Dance Performance’ video reached 4.19 million views on YouTube after 24 hours since it was released at 12:00 am the previous day. It was listed as the 4th most ‘Watched Video in 24 hours.’

Such feat is quite meaningful considering that they haven’t made their official debut, and the video wasn’t a proper performance video. The number of subscribers on their official YouTube channel reached 600,000 in less than a month. This shows how global attention is being drawn to the group as a girl-group that will lead YG, following BLACKPNK.

The video was taken during monthly evaluations, which is when trainees’ skills are evaluated. They received intense dance training by YGX dancer Leejung and showed impressive performances, despite being trainees.

Fans who saw the clip complimented their skills, saying “Vocals to dancing…They’re perfect”, “I feel like this group will be an ‘all-rounder’ going beyond boundaries of individual positions”, “I’m looking forward to how much they’ll grown”, “Traditional YG style hip-hop swag exploded”.

BABYMONSTER is garnering popularity already amid YG’s bold promotions. Not only did they make a surprise announcement on the 1st of January regarding the launch of their new girlgroup, but they released performance videos of HARAM and AHYEON. The cumulative views of their teasing content have surpassed 54.69 million views already, and all of them ranked high on YouTube’s trending list.

BABYMONSTER is a multi-national group, including not only Korean members for foreign members in their teens. Attention is now drawn to when they’ll make their debut, and they’re expected to take over the global music market in 2023, as YG has worked on their debut for a long time with dedication.
