YG ROOKIE BABYMONSTER Unveils 17-year-old PHARITA From Thailand
[한국경제=김수영 기자] YG Entertainment’s new rookie-group BABYMONSTER notified the birth of a multi-national girl group that has both the skills and public attention.
On the 2nd, YG Entertainment put up a live performance clip of PHARITA on their official social media.
PHARITA, who appeared in front of the public following HARAM, AHYEON, CHIQUITA, ASA, and RORA, sang Sam Fisher & Demi Lovato’s ‘What Other People Say’ with her own emotional interpretation.
PHARITA who was born in Thailand made viewers fall into her live clip with her clear yet mysterious voice tone and detailed expressions. Despite only being 17 years old, she presented a unique singing tone, a deep low voice, and hit high notes effortlessly.
YG said “PHARITA went to an international school from a very young age, so she’s really good with not only Thai but English. She also studied Korean for a couple of years, so she’s a trainee that can speak 3 languages.”
BABYMONSTER is a rookie girl group YG is releasing 7 years after BLACKPINK. The group is consisted of 7 members, 3 Korean, 2 Thai, and 2 Japanese.
Most of the members are in their teens and is receiving global attention as all of the members revealed so far presented outstanding skills. The number of subscribers on their official YouTube channel surpassed 660,000, and all 6 teaser contents released so far reached 100 million views.
