YG Holds Open Audition in 4 Years in Search for New Artists
[뉴스1=김민지 기자] YG엔터테인먼트가 YG Entertainment will be holding an open audition in search for next-generation individuals that can live up to the title of its renowned artists such as BIGBANG, BLACKPINK, WINNER, iKON, and TREASURE.
YG Entertainment announced on the 7th that they will hold the ‘2023 YG National Audition Tour’ from January 7th of next year till the 12th of February. Their open audition comes in about 4 years since 2019, and will be carried out as a face-to-face audition.
As a result, YG will be carrying out 6 auditions in 5 key areas across the nation starting with Daejeon. They will then move to Daegu, Gwangju, Busan and Seoul. YG expects to discover talented individuals across the country, as they so far had difficulties in holding open auditions at far-away locations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Eligible applicants are those born from 2004 to 2012, and individuals of any gender and nationality can apply. However, they can’t be under any legal contact with other agencies or individuals. Applicants must choose a category from vocal, rap, dance, and visuals when sending in their applications.
Applications can be submitted on-site or prior to the auditions. Pre-applications will close 5 days before the audition is held in the area (different date for all locations), and those who wish to apply on-site must visit the venue by 2pm of the day. More information can be found on YG’s official blog and social media.
