BLACKPINK’s Dance Practice Video Reaches 1.2 billion Views…First Among K-POP Dance Videos

[헤럴드경제=고승희 기자] YG Entertainment said on the 11th that the dance practice video for BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ reached 1.2 billion views on YouTube. This comes after two years and a month since it was released in July 2020. Not only is it the first for a K-POP dance practice video to reach such a feat, but this is also the most views it’s gotten.
‘How You Like That’ filled with strong beats and intense performances, won the ‘Song of The Summer’ in the 2020 US MTV Video Music Awards, and took the first spot in the ‘Global Top Summer Song’ chosen by YouTube in the same year. At the time of release it reached the 2nd spot on Spotify’s Global Top 50 Chart, and reached the 1st spot in the iTunes chart in a total of 64 countries including the U.S. It then reached 20th and 33rd on UK’s Official Single Top 100 and Billboard Hot 100 respectively, making their presence clear globally.
So far, BLACKPINK has a total of 32 videos that have 6 figure views. Out of these, 4 of them have reached more than 1.2 billion views. These include the dance practice video for ‘How You Like That’, ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ which is now heading towards 2 billion views, ‘Kill This Love’ (1.6 billion views), and the M/V for ‘BOOMBAYAH’ (1.4 billion views).
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is set to make a comeback with their pre-release single ‘Pink Venom’.
