[스타뉴스=윤상근 기자] Girl group BLACKPINK’s ‘BOOMBAYAH’ MV surpassed 1.2B views on YouTube. It is their 3rd video to surpass 1.2B views.

According to YG Entertainment on June 8, BLACKPINK’s ‘BOOMBAYAH’ MV has surpassed 1.2B views on YouTube as of 10:29 AM. It was achieved in 124 days since it has reached 1.1B views. The MV for ‘BOOMBAYAH’ is consistently increasing its view count although its been over 4 years since it was first uploaded on YouTube. They are stacking hundreds of millions of views every 3~4 months, which proves the group’s everlasting popularity.

As a result, BLACKPINK has a total of 3 MV with over 1.2B views. Prior to ‘BOOMBAYAH’, ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ and ‘Kill This Love’ have surpassed 1.2B views. The two MVs also have recently surpassed 1.6B and 1.3B views recently and are continuing their record marches.

‘BOOMBAYAH’ is one of the double title tracks of BLACKPINK’s debut single album ‘SQUARE ONE’, released back in August 2016. The catchy chorus and exciting drum beats of the song impressed the listeners and is a steady seller among numerous global fans.
