YG TREASURE Decides ‘DARARI’ As Follow-up Song -> To Produce M/V
[텐아시아=차혜영 기자] YG rookie group TREASURE decided to choose ‘DARARI’ as their follow-up song as it’s climbing back up on various global charts, and is soon to produce a music video for it.
YG Entertainment said on the 23rd that TREASURE plans on pursuing follow-up activities with their track-song ‘DARARI’ from mid April, after carrying out active promotion activities for their title-song ‘JIKJIN’ for the past month.
As a result, TREASURE plans on meeting global fans with their ‘DARARI’ M/V and new choreography.
YG added that doing follow-up promotions aren’t common these days, and it’s all thanks to the enormous support by global fans.
In fact, even though ‘DARARI’ didn’t have a music video or any performance videos to show to the public, it still naturally garnered popularity worldwide with the power of music.
‘DARARI’ was then listed on the no.1 spot on TikTok’s trending songs, as it was used as a background music for a dance challenge amid MZ generation’s explosive support. Videos that used hashtag #dararichallenge exceeded 700 million views.
Such popularity immediately got reflected on music charts. ‘DARARI’ has successfully entered U.S. Billboard Global 200 and Spotify Global Top 200 chart and has been climbing up the ladder day by day.
The song also decorated the cover of TIDAL’s viral hit play list, a high-quality music platform that reflects the preferences of European fans. This means it was the song that was searched upon the most by social media users.
‘DARARI’ is a trap rhythm based R&B song and TREASURE member BANG YE DAM took part in the lyrics and composition process. It took over the hearts of listners with it’s heart-pounding lyrics and fresh melodies.
Meanwhile, TREASURE has been setting new records with their mini-album ‘THE SECOND STEP : CHAPTER ONE’ in terms of their album sales, music, and YouTube.
So far, the album has sold more than 770,000 copies and took on the first spot on the iTunes chart in 30 different countries. It also came no.1 on iTunes’ Worldwide Album Chart, and took home two crowns on Gaon’s February chart.
Their title-song ‘JIKJIN’ swept the first spot on Japan’s major music charts such as the Oricon and Line Music, and their M/V is expected to surpass 100 million views in the quickest amount of time.
TREASURE will be holding their first concert ‘TRACE’ for two days, the 9th and 10th of April, at Olympic Hall in Olympic Park located in Seoul Bangidong. YG had previously said “please look forward to their set-list and their extruded stage to communicate closely with fans”.
