TREASURE Takes Over Major Japanese Music Charts, ‘JIKJIN’ Towards the Top
[OSEN=지민경 기자] YG mega group is expanding their popularity in fearlessly by taking over Japan’s major charts for three consecutive days, 3 days since their comeback.
The title-song for TREASURE’s first mini-album ‘JIKJIN’ took the first place on Japan’s largest music streaming site Line Music’s Song Top100 Chart. The group took the first place immediately after the song was released on the 15th, and successfully entered the daily charts, showing how much the group is being loved by Japanese fans.
The group is expanding their presence in many major charts apart from Line Music. Words about the album spread among global fans since the 16th and ‘JIKJIN’ ranked first on various rankings including Apple Music, iTunes, AWA, Rakuten Music, and mu-mo. Considering how the group hasn’t even begun official activities in Japan yet, TREASURE’s such feat is very noticeable.
TREASURE’s popularity in Japan has already been somewhat expected. ‘BOY’, ‘I LOVE YOU’, ‘MMM’, ‘MY TREASURE’ which was released ahead of their debut in Japan had already taken the first spot in Japan’s major charts. In particular, ‘BOY’ and ‘MY TREASURE’ took the first spot of Line Music Weekly Charts for two consecutive weeks, raising expectations on how long JIKJIN’s popularity will continue.
Meanwhile, TREASURE’s first mini-album ‘THE SECOND STEP : CHAPTER ONE’ reached the first spot on the iTunes Chart in 30 different countries on the day of it’s release, making it rank first on the Worldwide Album Chart. But this isn’t an instant phenomenon. Not only have they maintain their spot for two consecutive days, but the M/V for their title-song ‘JIKJIN’ reached 1.4 million views, once gain proving their global influence.
