BLACKPINK Changes Format of Fan Club Recruitment…Opens Ongoing Weverse Global Membership
[OSEN=지민경 기자] BLACKPINK’s fan club format has changed from the original official recruitment process to one that allows fans to sign up at any time and even receive special benefits.
YG Entertainment said on the 16th that they will be always recruiting fans to join BLACKPINK’s global official fan club ‘BLINK’.
It is expected that the inconveniences of only being able to join the fan club during certain periods of the time will be reduced. This was also something new fans have been waiting for as the number of fans exploded along with their growing global popularity.
In order to be a ‘BLINK’, fans must go through BLACKPINK’s official fan community ‘BLACKPINK Weverse’. They can then join through the membership product page on Weverse Shop.
Various benefits will be given to BLINKs such as a mobile membership card, prority participation chance in BLACKPINK’s online and offline events, the right to purchase membership kits to be released in the future, and the right to purchase membership only products.
YG said “Separate to the ongoing recruitment, for those who join the EARLY BIRD MEMBERSHIP that will only be opened from the 17th of December 2 p.m. till the 31st of December 11:59 p.m., additional benefits will be given such as a chance to take part in the video-call signing event which will be randomly chosen.”
Meanwhile BLACKPINK released their first full album ‘THE ALBUM’ this year, and took the number one spot on the iTunes Album Chart in 57 countries. The album sold more than 1.2 million copies, making the group the first million seller as a K-pop girl group.
LISA and ROSÉ’s solo project also reached new records on various global charts, adding to BLACKPINK’s already powerful influence. The group’s official YouTube channel currently has more than 70.5 million subscribers, making them the world’s top artist in the whole YouTube field.
