JENNIE Sets a Milestone by Hitting 700 Million Views… First Time as a Korean Female Solo Artist

According to YG Entertainment on August 9, JENNIE’s MV for her solo song ‘SOLO’ has surpassed 700 million views on YouTube today as of 3:50 PM. The record was achieved in approximately 2 years and 9 months since its release back on November 12, 2018.
The MV for ‘SOLO’ has surpassed 100M views in 23 days since its release, 200M views in 90 days, 300M views in 182 days, 400M views in 13 months, 500M views in 20 months, and 600M views in 26 months.
‘SOLO’ has received a lot of love from the global fans with its beautiful chords in the intro, its simple melody line, and its direct and sincere lyrics which expresses a confident woman who is not bound to sadness after a breakup.
The song has topped real-time·daily·weekly charts in Korean music platforms as soon as it was released, achieving a ‘perfect all-kill’. The song also topped iTunes charts in 40 countries and was the first-ever song released by a Korean female solo artist to top the iTunes Worldwide Song Chart and to enter the US iTunes Top 10.
BLACKPINK, the group JENNIE is part of, has a total of 29 videos with over 100M views. BLACKPINK’s official YouTube channel has over 63.8M subscribers, which is the biggest number among all female artists in the world. They are approximately 800 thousand short compared to Justin Bieber(64.6M), who is the most subscribed artist in the world.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK has celebrated their 5-year debut anniversary by communicating with the global fans through Naver V LIVE on the 8th. The surprise live broadcast was held for approximately an hour with the group’s hopes to connect with their fans. The broadcast earned over 230M hearts and was watched by over 1.76M simultaneous viewers.
