Rookie Group TREASUARE, Just Music? ‘Multi-Talent Idols’ from Variety→Sports
[OSEN=연휘선 기자] YG’s rookie group TREASURE showed off their talents in not only music and variety but also in sports, showing off their ‘multi-talent idol’ aspects.
On ‘TREASURE MAP’ season 2 episode 53 uploaded on YG Entertainment’s official blog on the 2nd at noon, TREASURE members had a ‘sports day’. TREASURE split into black and blue teams to present a game of pride. The winning team was to be awarded a beef barbeque party, which made the members go extra hard.
The first game was soccer. JIHOON and BNAG YE DAM’s soccer skills grabbed the people’s attention. BANG YE DAM, the ‘foot skill ace’, scored the first goal and the blue team started to lead. ASAHI from the black team scored a counter goal, ending the first half in 1:1.
In the second half, the blue team kept on attacking. JIHOON successfully scored with 2 tosses and 1 shot attempt, while MASHIHO succeeded in scoring an additional goal. MASHIHO presented an acrobatic goal ceremony of a 2-time somersault, reminding the viewers of an actual Premier League game. After, JUNKYU, PARK JEONG WOO, and SO JUNG HWAN of the black team announced the goalkeeper union named ‘god hand’ and started to counterattack, but could not turn the results. With the final score of 8:4, the blue team won the soccer game. JIHOON who scored a hattrick was selected as the MVP.
The second game was a 4:4 basketball game. It looked like the black team would take the advantage, since PARK JEONG WOO has a basketball background and HARUTO is tall. However, MASHIHO turned out to be a very good basketball player, which led to unexpected results. MASHIHO got rid of the defense by other tall members and scored from long ranges, while being called ‘MA BAEK HO’, the prince of the basketball court. Not only MASHIHO but also YOSHI, JIHOON, and DOYOUNG all showed off great teamwork in the blue team. As a result, the blue team scored 29 points while the black team scored 14, leading the blue team to a consecutive win. MASHIHO was selected as the MVP in basketball.
The final game was bowling. The ball kept on falling into the gutter for both teams, making the viewers burst in laughter. CHOI HYUN SUK from the black team succeeded in making a strike, while JIHOON from the blue team composed his mind and started to chase. However, after JIHOON, BANG YE DAM, and MASHIHO succeeded in scoring a turkey which means 3 consecutive strikes, the gap got bigger. MASHIHO became the sports master in soccer, basketball, and bowling. The members of the black team chased the blue team until the end, but could not change the result.
After a fierce competition, the blue team became the winning team of ‘TREASURE Sports Day’. After the game, CHOI HYUN SUK from the black team cheered his teammates by stating, “We’ve lost, but thank you for doing your best until the end”. Members JIHOON, YOSHI, MASHIHO, YOON JAE HYUK, BANG YE DAM, and DOYOUNG from the blue team celebrated their win while presenting beef mukbang. The result was meaningful since all six members worked hard together to achieve their win.
