BLACKPINK ROSÉ’s ‘R’ Reaches 280 Thousand in Sales in One Day

[텐아시아=우빈 기자] BLACKPINK ROSÉ set the initial album sales record in K-Pop female solo artist history in just one day since the release of her first album.

According to Hanteo Charts, approximately 280 thousand copies of ROSÉ’s first solo album ‘R’ were sold after its release on the 16th, being ranked at no. 1 on the Daily Albums chart.

It is the biggest record in Korean female solo artist history and approximately 2 times more than the weekly album sales made by top female artists. The final initial sales record is expected to increase even further.

In fact, ROSÉ’s solo album ‘R’ received over 500 thousand pre-orders. The orders were made not only in Korea, but also from worldwide countries including the US, China, and Japan.

ROSÉ’s ‘R’ is a single album. Considering that full-length albums have higher sales, one can notice her dominant popularity and global influence.

ROSÉ’s title track ‘On The Ground’ also topped the Song category of Hanteo Charts, noticing her long run popularity.

The song also topped iTunes Top Song charts in 51 different countries including the US, as well as entering the Global Top 50 chart of Spotify, the world’s biggest music platform, as no. 8 and settling in the top 10. The song also remains at no. 1 on the Digital Album Sales chart of QQ Music, which is China’s biggest music platform.

The MV for ‘On The Ground’ is also achieving remarkable success. The video became the ‘Most Watched Video in the First 24 Hours’ on YouTube after its release and has currently surpassed 84M views. Looking at the trend, the video is expected to set another K-Pop female solo artist record when it surpasses 100M views.

Meanwhile, ROSÉ will appear on NBC ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ today(16th, US local time) and continue her popularity march.
