iKON’s ‘Why Why Why’ at No. 1 in Japan… Proves Unchanged Global Popularity
[스타뉴스=강민경 기자] Group iKON was ranked at no. 1 on a major Japanese music chart, proving their unchanged global popularity.
According to YG Entertainment on March 6, iKON’s digital single ‘Why Why Why’ was ranked at no. 1 on the Japan Rakuten Music Real-time Comprehensive chart as of today at 9 AM. They’ve reached the top spot after climbing up the chart after its release on the 3rd, and has topped the according chart for 2 consecutive days.
iKON’s digital single ‘Why Why Why’ proved the group’s global presence not only in Japan, but also in many different countries worldwide. The song topped iTunes Song Charts in 10 different countries, and is still popular at numerous charts under the global fans’ favorable reviews. The song is also placed on the top ranks of major Korean music charts including Genie and Bugs, living up to the expectation of the fans who have waited for iKON’s comeback.
Like a flower that beautifully blooms and eventually fades, iKON’s ‘Why Why Why’ sings about ended love. iKON’s delicate vocals singing about the sadness and regrets from a breakup impress the listeners of the song.
iKON has topped the Japan Oricon Chart as soon as they’ve made debut, and received rookie awards at the ‘Japan Record Awards’ and the ‘Japan Golden Disc Awards’. Furthermore, they’ve gathered a total of over 1 million accumulated tour audience through the ‘iKON JAPAN TOUR 2019’.
Meanwhile, iKON will appear on MBC ‘Show! Music Core’ and on SBS ‘Inkigayo’ on the 7th.
