BLACKPINK’s Hit Parade+ROSÉ’s Solo Single Unveiled… A Compilation of Everything, ‘THE SHOW’
[마이데일리=박윤진 기자] Girl group BLACKPINK successfully completed their first-ever online concert, joined by their fans worldwide.
On January 31 at 2 PM, BLACKPINK’s first-ever livestream concert ‘THE SHOW’ was broadcasted live through the group’s YouTube channel.
It was approximately a year and 5 months since BLACKPINK met their global fans through a concert since their world tour held last year. ‘THE SHOW’ compiled BLACKPINK’s musical discography piled since their debut back in 2016.
Starting with the opening track ‘Kill This Love’, BLACKPINK captured the fans’ eyes and ears through songs ‘How You Like That’, ‘Playing with Fire’, and ‘Lovesick Girls’, while JISOO performed Tove Lo’s ‘Habits’ and LISA performed Doja Cat’s ‘Say So’ through their solo performances.
As BLACKPINK explained that they “tried to present special performances”, the group performed songs from their official debut album including ‘Pretty Savage’, ‘Crazy Over You’, ‘Love To Hate Me’, and ‘You Never Know’, as well as the song ‘Sour Candy’ which was a song performed with Pop star Lady Gaga. Their glamorous fashion styles and stage design also captivated the eyes of the viewers.
The newly arranged JENNIE’s ‘SOLO’ and ‘GONE’, ROSÉ’s upcoming solo sub-title song, were also unveiled through their solo performances.
‘THE SHOW’ presented live band sounds and emphasized everything on the actual stage rather than inserting digital effects, which differentiated the concert from other online concerts.
In the latter half, BLACKPINK raised the mood by performing hits including ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’, ‘WHISTLE’, ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’, and ‘BOOMBAYAH’. Before performing the ending song ‘Forever Young’, BLACKPINK shared their thoughts on the concert by stating, “We feel like we’re the ones getting consoled and energized through the concert” and added, “There were many difficulties while preparing for the concert, but we would like to thank the staff and all of our members for putting in such hard work”.
