BLACKPINK’s MV for ‘WHISTLE’ Hits 600M Views… 7th Video to Surpass 600M
[더팩트=유지훈 기자] Girl group BLACKPINK set another milestone with their debut single ‘WHISTLE’.
On December 30, YG Entertainment revealed, “BLACKPINK’s MV for ‘WHISTLE’ surpassed 600M views on YouTube today(30th) as of 3:08 AM”. As a result, BLACKPINK now has a total of 7 MVs with over 600M views including ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’(1.4B), ‘Kill This Love’(1.1B), ‘BOOMBAYAH’(1B), ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’(900M), ‘How You Like That’(700M), and ‘PLAYING WITH FIRE’(600M).
‘WHISTLE’ is one of the double title tracks from BLACKPINK’s debut single ‘SQUARE ONE’. After its release back in August 2016, the song dominated major music streaming platforms as well as topping iTunes charts in 14 different countries worldwide. The MV gathered attention due to the members’ visuals and colorful images.
YG Entertainment explained, “BLACKPINK’s YouTube channel has gained a total of 23M subscribers for the past year. Their YouTube channel currently has over 55M subscribers. BLACKPINK is also the first K-Pop group to have 7 MVs with over 600M views”.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is currently preparing for their livestream concert ‘THE SHOW'(YG PALM STAGE – 2020 BLACKPINK: THE SHOW) to be held next year on January 31.
