BLACKPINK’s Dance Practice Video for ‘Kill This Love’ Reaches 300M Views… Surpasses 51M Subscribers
[엑스포츠뉴스=최희재 기자] Group BLACKPINK’s record march on YouTube is continuing not only through MVs, but also through dance practice videos.
According to YG Entertainment on the 15th, the dance practice video for ‘Kill This Love’ surpassed 300M views on YouTube yesterday as of 10:08 PM.
It’s been a year and 6 months after the video was released on April 9, 2019. It’s their third dance practice video to surpass 300M views following ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ and ‘How You Like That’.
Their recent rise on the MV for ‘Kill This Love’ is surprising, but it’s even more surprising that their march continues through dance practice videos as well.
‘Kill This Love’ fascinated the global fans by maximizing BLACKPINK’s fierce girl crush charms with point moves which make them look like they’re shooting shotguns. The song entered US Billboard’s main charts including the Hot 100 and Billboard 200 as no. 41 and no. 24 respectively, setting the best K-Pop girl group record at the time.
The song also topped the iTunes Song chart in the US for the first time as a K-Pop girl group, and in 15 years among all girl groups in the world.
BLACKPINK’s YouTube, the channel with a total of 22 videos with over 100M views, is racking up subscribers at a fast pace. BLACKPINK’s YouTube channel which had 37.4M subscribers(6/26/2020) when they released their pre-release single ‘How You Like That’ now has surpassed 51M subscribers, heading to become the most subscribed artist channel in the world.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is dominating various global charts through ‘THE ALBUM’. After its release on October 2, ‘THE ALBUM’ topped global iTunes Album charts in 57 different countries. The group was also ranked at no. 1 on the US Billboard ‘Artist 100’ chart announced on October 13(local time), as well as charting 2 songs on Billboard’s main singles chart, the ‘Hot 100’, for the first time as a K-Pop group.
They are also setting a new record with album sales in K-Pop girl group history. BLACKPINK’s ‘THE ALBUM’ was ranked at no. 2 on Billboard’s main albums chart, the ‘Billboard 200’, as well as being ranked at no. 2 on UK’s Official Album Chart announced on the 9th(local time), proving their unrivaled popularity while dominating two of the biggest Pop charts in the world.
