TREASURE, “BIGBANG’s Brother Group? An Honor… Been Supporting G-DRAGON X TAEYANG Since Trainee Days”
[OSEN=김은애 기자] TREASURE thanked BIGBANG, the senior artist group of YG.
On August 10, TREASURE held a round interview celebrating the release of their first single album, ‘THE FIRST STEP : CHAPTER ONE’, in YGX headquarters located in Mapo-gu, Seoul.
TREASURE is YG’s rookie group being presented in 4 years since BLACKPINK and is the agency’s fourth boy group following BIGBANG, WINNER, and iKON. As a result, the group received heated attention from the K-Pop scene before making debut.
On the question whether he didn’t feel pressured, BANG YE DAM revealed his will by answering, “I feel more grateful than pressure since our seniors have paved the way in the global field. We will also try to do our best”.
TREASURE also gathered attention as BIGBANG’s brother group. CHOI HYUN SUK revealed, “It’s an honor since I grew up listening to BIGBANG. It’s a motivation factor for me to work harder”. He added, “G-DRAGON and TAEYANG of BIGBANG supported us with their warm hearts since we were trainees. They meant a lot to us”.
BANG YE DAM stated, “TAEYANG patted me in the head and told me to eat well”. JIHOON added, “When I met TAEYANG in the alley, he asked me how I was doing and shared kind words. It really meant a lot since I was a trainee”.
Then what is TREASURE’s goal. On the question asking what nickname they would like for TREASURE, CHOI HYUN SUK revealed his hope by stating, “I would like us to become a group spreading out globally. I would like us to be called the globaldols”.
