[스타뉴스=공미나 기자] Girl group BLACKPINK was ranked at no. 1 on the Weekly K-Pop Radar once again, setting a milestone of being no. 1 for 4 consecutive weeks.
BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ MV gathered 39.17M views on the 29th week (July 12th~July 19th) of 2020 according to K-Pop Radar, which allowed the video to be ranked at no. 1 on the YouTube Views chart for 4 consecutive weeks.
K-Pop Radar explained the reason for BLACKPINK’s record march as “The increase in global popularity in South East Asia and Brazil”.
According to the world map announced by K-Pop Radar last year, BLACKPINK has gathered a total of 4.6B views in 2019. Now, a year later, BLACKPINK has already gathered a total of 5.1B views, which is approximately 110% of what they gathered last year.
Regarding these statistics, K-Pop Radar explained, “The views generated in Brazil increased from 192M to 336M, approximately 1.8 times more, which played a significant role in increasing the total number of views”. They added, “Brazil became the TOP5 BLACKPINK YouTube view gathering country following Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines”.
They also added, “The views increased by 80M and 50M in India and Japan as well, which also gave a big impact in the total increase of views”.
