YG Rookie Group TREASURE ‘Debut Coming Soon’, Reveals Logo Poster
[한국경제TV=유병철 기자] A poster notifying that YG’s rookie group TREASURE will soon make debut has been revealed. The K-Pop scene is paying keen attention on the appearance of a major rookie group that will surprise the global music industry this year.
On July 13 at 9 AM, YG Entertainment uploaded a poster image with the team name ‘TREASURE’ and the word ‘DEBUT’ through their official blog.
In the blue gradation tone full of freshness, 12 shining dots connected with each other, completing the logo of TREASURE. It symbolizes TREASURE formed as a group, composed of 12 members including CHOI HYUN SUK, JIHOON, YOSHI, JUNKYU, MASHIHO, YOON JAE HYUK, ASAHI, BANG YE DAM, DOYOUNG, HARUTO, PARK JEONG WOO, and SO JUNG HWAN.
TREASURE is YG’s major rookie group being presented in 4 years since BLACKPINK. The group was formed through ‘YG TREASURE BOX’, the survival program which aired from November 2018 until January 2019. It is a 12-member boy group being formed with the biggest number of members in 24 years of YG history. They are YG’s fourth boy group following BIGBANG, WINNER, and iKON, and is the most anticipated rookies in 2020 K-Pop.
The group is expected to bring out fresh waves in the K-Pop scene this summer with their sturdy musical capabilities, performance skills, and popularity through friendly communication with the fans. They are receiving heated interest from music fans not only in Korea, but also overseas.
TREASURE’s YouTube channel has approximately 1.2M subscribers. Their song and dance covers, ‘TREASURE MAP’, ‘T-TALK’, and ‘A 3 Minute TREASURE’ videos have surpassed a total of 100M accumulated views. The figure is unprecedented for a rookie group who are yet to make debut, which proves the group’s popularity.
Furthermore, as part of TREASURE’s debut project and a surprise gift for the fans, BANG YE DAM’s solo single ‘WAYO’ was released back in June and was ranked at no. 1 on iTunes charts in 9 different countries, as well as receiving favorable reviews.
The TREASURE PRE_DEBUT SPECIAL RELEASE COUNTDOWN LIVE show that was held by all 12 members of TREASURE to celebrate the release of the single was watched by 950 thousand viewers, while the 560M hearts they’ve received proved the group’s global popularity.
Detailed information and dates on TREASURE’s debut is still in veil, raising the fans’ curiosities and anticipation. YG has previously stated, “TREASURE is planning to release songs continuously until the end of this year”. They emphasized, “It’s a similar promotion strategy BIGBANG used back in 2006, when they released single albums every month”.
