BLACKPINK·Lady Gaga’s ‘Sour Candy’ Ranked at UK’s Official Top 40 for 2 Consecutive Weeks
[뉴시스=이재훈 기자] Group ‘BLACKPINK’ was ranked at UK’s Official Singles Top 40 for 2 consecutive weeks.
According to the latest chart announced on the 13th(local time), Pop Star Lady Gaga’s ‘Sour Candy’ featuring BLACKPINK was ranked at no. 34 on UK’s Official Singles Top 40.
The rank is 17 steps lower compared to last week but is still remaining in the top ranks. BLACKPINK is the only K-Pop girl group to be ranked at UK’s Official Singles Top 40 chart for 2 consecutive weeks.
‘Sour Candy’ entered the ‘Hot 100’, Billboard’s main singles chart, as no. 33 last week. The song was also ranked at no. 10 on the Digital Song Sales chart, setting the ‘first and best’ record in K-Pop girl group history.
Forbes, the US economy magazine, spotlighted BLACKPINK’s potential along with the success of ‘Chromatica’, Lady Gaga’s latest album with the song ‘Sour Candy’. They analyzed, “The sturdy fan base who have craved for BLACKPINK’s new music led the success of ‘Sour Candy’, and even captivated numerous fans of Gaga”.
The also forecasted, “BLACKPINK hit their highest point on the Billboard Hot 100 through ‘Sour Candy’ but will reach a higher point with their next single and music video. Furthermore, Forbes also spotlighted BLACKPINK through another column titled, ‘The First K-Pop Girl Group to Score a Top 10 Digital Song Sales Hit’.
Meanwhile, with their first-ever official album release coming up in 4 years since making debut, BLACKPINK will present their pre-release title on the 26th. They have noticed to release their second new song in July~August, and the release of their first official album in September.
