US Billboard, “BLACKPINK’s Comeback on the 26th, Highly Anticipated… Everything is Going Well as YG Announced”

[OSEN=김은애 기자] US Billboard spotlighted BLACKPINK’s upcoming comeback on June 26.

On June 10(local time), US Billboard uploaded an article titled “Here’s When Blackpink’s Highly Anticipated Comeback Single Is Dropping”.

Billboard wrote, “Get ready, Blinks! BLACKPINK is coming back to your area soon as the K-pop girl group announced its comeback single will drop on June 26, according to YG Entertainment”. They added, “The untitled single will end BLACKPINK’s one-year musical hiatus since ‘Kill This Love’, which reached the no. 42 spot on the Billboard 200 back in April 2019”.

They continued, “The song also serves as the lead single for the quartet’s first-ever full studio album due in September”.

Billboard also wrote, “Sounds like everything’s going according to the release plan YG Entertainment publicized to fans last month that stated the pre-release title track will come out in June”.

Billboard also added, “Blinks can then expect a second new song from members JISOO, JENNIE, ROSÉ and LISA either in July or August”. They continued, “To hold fans over until then, the group delivered the super sweet ‘Sour Candy’ treat off Lady Gaga’s album at the end of May”.

YG Entertainment has previously announced BLACKPINK’s upcoming comeback on the 26th, in June 10. BLACKPINK will then release two new songs in special formats between July~August, followed up by their first-ever full album release in September.

BLACKPINK has recently completed preheating for their comeback through their song ‘Sour Candy’, collaborated with Lady Gaga. The song entered Billboard’s ‘Hot 100’ as no. 33 yesterday(9th) after its release last month on the 28th(KST), setting the best record in K-Pop girl group history.

Furthermore, the song was ranked at no. 17 on UK’s Official Chart Singles Top 40 as well as topping the Global YouTube Song Top 100 Chart, renewing the first and best records in K-Pop girl group history. The number of BLACKPINK’s followers surpassed 12.15 million on Spotify, the world’s biggest music platform, while the song was ranked high on the Global Top 50 chart, in addition to the US and UK charts. Meanwhile, the people are paying keen attention on what kind of new song BLACKPINK will release on the 26th, and what kind of new milestones they will achieve.
