“You Make Me Hot” A New Beginning for iKON as a 6-Member Group, A Stronger ‘Dive’
[OSEN=김은애 기자] Group iKON returned as a 6-member group. They are determined to fly higher with their new song, ‘Dive’.
On February 6 at 6 PM, iKON released their third mini album ‘i DECIDE’ through various music platforms. It is their comeback in a year and a month since they released the‘NEW KIDS REPACKAGE : THE NEW KIDS’ last year on January.
The album ‘i DECIDE’ contains iKON’s will and passion to determine and focus on their own paths. The album was highly anticipated since it is their first album being released as a 6-member group.
The six members including JAY, BOBBY, JU-NE, SONG, DK, and CHAN worked hard on the album as a result. DK wrote, composed, and produced ‘Flower’, while BOBBY was credited as a lyricist on a total of 3 tracks.
The title song ‘Dive’ has a repeating country guitar riff and abundant sounds that will impress the listeners, and is a song in a Hip-hop genre with a strong impact that matches its title.
Through their lyrics such as “If you’re a flame, I will dive into you, I’ll tel you you’re warm and burn, I will dive. If you are a road of thorns I will throw my body into you and tell you it’s soft”, “I’m willing to be trapped into your world”, and ‘“If you place me on the edge of a cliff, I will tell you I want to fly and fall”, the group expressed their will to dive forward recklessly. The lyrics which state the courage of being able to do anything for the one you love create a harmony with the catchy tunes, grabbing the listeners’ attention in an instant.
Furthermore, producers who have produced multiple hits of iKON have participated in the creative process of ‘Dive’. The composers include B.I, KANG UK JIN, and Diggy. The lyrics of the song were written by B.I and SEUNG, raising the level of completion of the song.

The MV presents iKON’s will as they dream of flying higher, in addition to sensuous visuals. The members run through an unconnected road, an empty desert, broken walls, and flames while revealing their explosive energy.
The members of iKON also present a sharp group dance with determined looks, leaving a strong impression on the listeners. The matured and handsome visuals of the members is also a point to look after.
Furthermore, the other tracks also deserve attention. In addition to the title song ‘Dive’, the album ‘i DECIDE’ contains a total of 5 tracks including ‘Ah Yeah’, ‘All The World’, ‘Holding On’, and ‘Flower’. The public and diverse challenges made on the song impress the listeners.
‘Ah Yeah’ is a song expressing emotions of excitement with its strong mood aroused through the snare and electric guitar sounds. ‘All The World’ has funky drum beats and synthesizer sounds which will attract the listers, while ‘Holding On’ presents each member’s unique vocals layered on top of a catchy beat.
The song ‘Flower’ was not only written·composed by DK but was also produced by him for the first time. The catchy chorus with lyrics which state the emotions of a breakup clearly show iKON’s unique ballad emotions. BOBBY was credited as a lyricist on a total of 3 tracks including ‘Ah Yeah’, ‘All The World’, and ‘Flower’. As a member responsible for the rap parts of iKON’s songs, BOBBY proved his presence and musical capabilities as the member responsible for iKON’s rap parts by participating in the creation of 3 songs as a lyricist.
iKON has made comeback with a fresh start. While they have reunited with their fans in a long time, the people are paying keen attention on what kind of praises and support they will receive.
