Psy Launches Postage Stamps to Celebrate His Youtube Music Video Record of 1.3 billion Hits
Meet Psy, a Korean artist who swept the world with his hit song Gangnam Style, on special postage stamps.
On February 14, YG Entertainment said, “The ‘Psy: My Own Stamps’ will be on sale at 22 post offices in Seoul from February 18. We are selling these stamps to celebrate Psy’s enormous success all across the world, especially his Youtube record of 1.3 billion hits.”
Unlike the traditional stamps in the form of books or albums, Psy’s special stamps consist of six ‘My Own Stamps’, three ‘Art Cards’ and a ‘Tempered Glass Art Case.’
In both the stamps and the art cards, Psy’s photographs can be seen over colorful pop art backgrounds, showing the dynamic feel of Gangnam Style, while the artwork is also visually pleasing.
To suit Gangnam Style’s image, the border of the images is bright red. The vibrant colors make the set a trendy item for interior designs in department stores or even in offices.
Psy’s autograph is imprinted on the back of the art cards along with an information-recorded label (QR code) that will lead you to the Gangnam Style music video on Youtube.
Lee Hyo Jung of the YG Entertainment Contents Team commented, “Psy is the first in YG to launch his very own stamps. His stamps are both mainstream and unique, so instead of simply calling them stamps, we would like to give them a special name – Psy Art Stamps.”
The ‘Psy: My Own Stamps’ set can be purchased at 22 post offices throughout Seoul, including Seoul Central Post Office and Gwanghwamun Post office.
They are also on sale at the Postar Art Shop (http://shop.postar.co.kr) and YG e-SHOP (http://www.ygeshop.com).
