Japanese Press Spotlights BLACKPINK’s Tokyo Dome Concert, “Fascinated an Audience of 55,000”
[마이데일리=양유진 기자] Japanese media spotlighted girl group BLACKPINK.
On December 4, BLACKPINK held the ‘BLACKPINK 2019-2020 WORLD TOUR IN YOUR AREA in JAPAN’ in Tokyo Dome and connected with Japanese fans with passion.
After the concert, local media including 6 of Japan’s largest sports newspapers spotlighted BLACKPINK’s performance at Tokyo Dome, which proved the group’s strong market power.
Daily Sports, Sankei Sports, Sports Hochi, Nikkan Sports, Sponichi Annex, and Junichi Sports reported, “BLACKPINK fascinated an audience of 55,000 with their performance of ‘KILL THIS LOVE’, which has an unbelievable view count of 660 million. The group is expected to gather a total of 205,000 fans through their dome tour in Japan”.
In addition, Nikkan Sports wrote “Over 70% of the audience in BLACKPINK’s Tokyo Dome concert were females, as the group is known as the ‘girl-crush group’”.
BLACKPINK, who has previously met their global fans through a world tour held in 23 cities of 4 continents including Asia, North America, Europe, and Oceania, performed at Tokyo Dome, which is known as the sacred place of concerts held in Japan. All tickets for the concert were sold out as soon as ticket sales began, while an audience of 55,000 filled up the arena proving BLACKPINK’s local popularity.
After successfully completing their Tokyo Dome concert, BLACKPINK will perform in Osaka Kyocera Dome next year on January 4~5 and in Fukuoka Yafuoku! Dome on February 22, continuing their dome tour in Japan.
BLACKPINK is currently working on their new album with the goal of making comeback in early 2020.
