YG WINNER Wins ‘Triple Crown’ as Soon as They Enter Gaon Charts
[엑스포츠뉴스=전아람 기자] Group WINNER won the Triple Crown on Gaon Charts, the official and representative music chart of K-Pop.
According to the announcement by Gaon Charts made on the 23rd, WINNER’s new mini album ‘WE’ topped the Albums chart for the 20th week(May 12, 2019~May 18). The title song ‘AH YEAH’ of the album also topped the Downloads chart.
The album ‘WE’ was also ranked at no. 1 on the Retail Albums chart for its weekly sales, giving WINNER the honor of winning the Triple Crown as soon as they entered the Gaon Charts. The Retail Albums chart measures accumulated sales of offline albums(CD, LP, Kit, etc.) through retail stores.
On May 15, WINNER made comeback in approximately 5 months and showed off their matured and unique musical world.
‘AH YEAH’ is a ‘signature summer dance track by WINNER’ with cool lyrics which state the emotions of a cold-hearted breakup and an impressive and catchy hook. They transformed a realistic emotion into WINNER’s unique fresh energy, creating a cheerful breakup song which grabbed the ears of the public.
There are 4 different versions of the album ‘WE’. Each version including black, silver, blue, and white includes different photobook and bonus images. The album has a high holding value among the fans with its content including a random large-scale postcard, a random polaroid photo, and a group photo card.
WINNER’s title song ‘AH YEAH’ achieved an all-kill status on Korean music charts, allowing them to continue their group record of having all title songs released ever since debut being ranked at no. 1.
In addition, the group proved their global popularity by topping iTunes Album charts in 19 different regions. They also dominated the daily and weekly Paid Digital Album Sales charts of Kugou Music, Kuwo Music, and QQ Music, which is the biggest music platform in mainland China.
Meanwhile, on June 29 at 2 PM and 6 PM, WINNER will hold the ‘WINNER PRIVATE STAGE [WWIC2019]’ in Jangchung Stadium, Seoul to meet their Korean fans.
