BLACKPINK Reveals Behind Stories of Their Activities in the US… From Coachella Festival to JISOO·LISA’s Date in Santa Monica

[텐아시아=김지원 기자] BLACKPINK revealed the behind stories from their US activities in Los Angeles, the first city of their North America tour.
On May 19 at 10 AM, YG Entertainment uploaded episode 9 of the BLACKPINK DIARIES through their official blog. The video started with the members enjoying their moment of relaxation after successfully completing their first performance at Coachella. On ‘what California reminds you of’, JISOO mentioned ‘weather’, ‘tasty food’, and ‘passionate BLINK’. ROSÉ answered, ‘Coachella’.
JISOO and LISA enjoyed a tasty meal in an intimate brunch café, located in Los Angeles. As if she still feels the lingering feeling from Coachella, LISA stated, “It was amazing”. She shared her vivid thoughts by adding, “They knew all of our dances” and “It was amazing that they performed ‘KILL THIS LOVE’ and ‘PLAYING WITH FIRE’”.
After their meal, JISOO and LISA headed to Santa Monica beach while enjoying the sunny day without clouds. The two people made memories while taking photos of each other on the beach.
With their first-ever North America tour coming up, BLACKPINK began their US schedules. BLACKPINK met radio listeners of the US through ‘JoJo on the Radio’ and the ‘Zach Sang Show’. Furthermore, they also appeared on CBS’ famous late-night talk show titled ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’.
BLACKPINK’s first-ever North America tour opening concert finally began in Los Angeles. The fans who attended the concert revealed the reasons why they like BLACKPINK by stating, “We like BLACKPINK. All four members are unique”, “Their music is fierce and different”, “BLACKPINK shows the power of women. They tell us to be ourselves”, and that “BLACKPINK as four strong women makes me feel I can get stronger too”.
The loud roar and cheers from the crowd during the concert were more passionate than ever, while ‘bbyong bongs’, which are BLACKPINK’s official lighting sticks, heated up the venue while creating pink waves. LISA stated, “We were nervous to perform her today, but I feel so happy to see you enjoying our performance”. JENNIE stated, “Thank you for giving me so much energy”.
BLACKPINK’s North America tour started in Los Angeles and continued through Chicago, Hamilton, Newark, Atlanta, and Fort Worth. The tour was consisted of 7 concerts in a total of 6 cities in the US and Canada, as mentioned above. The group has established their position in the US while receiving explosive responses from the local fans and selling out 60 thousand tickets.
BLACKPINK is currently on tour in Europe, following their North America tour. They have successfully completed their concert in Amsterdam on the 18th(local time) and will continue their world tour in 6 regions of Europe. They will perform in Manchester on the 21st, in London on the 22nd, in Berlin on the 24th, in Paris on the 26th, and in Barcelona on the 28th. They will also hold an additional concert in Macau on June 8. During the end of the year, they will go on a dome tour in Japan consisted of 4 concerts in 3 major cities of Japan.
