BLACKPINK Reveals Behind Stories From ‘Coachella’… Receives ‘Support’ From Will Smith·Khalid

[스포티비뉴스=장진리기자] Behind stories from BLACKPINK’s appearance at Coachella have been revealed.

On May 5, YG Entertainment uploaded episode 8 for the BLACKPINK DIARIES through their official blog.

The video started with BLACKPINK leaving for Indio, California to perform at the ‘Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival’, which is the biggest music festival in the US. The members were filled with expectations and got on the plane while receiving the heated support of their fans.

Prior to getting on their second performance stage of ‘Coachella’ held last month on the 20th(KST), BLACKPINK met Will Smith, the Hollywood top star, and shared greetings. Will Smith was watching his son and rapper Jaden Smith perform, while BLACKPINK also sat on the audience seats and cheered at Jaden’s music and performance. Jaden Smith responded by yelling, “Shout out to my friends BLACKPINK!” towards the audience.

Prior to getting on stage, Khalid visited BLACKPINK’s waiting room. He supported the group by mentioning ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ and stating, “I’m looking forward to your performance”. Will Smith revisited BLACKPINK as well and showed his support with sincere words of blessing. Will Smith put his thumbs up while asking, “You’re getting on stage soon, right?” and added, “Congratulations, you’re evolving”. 

BLACKPINK presented a fantastic performance at ‘Coachella’ as the first K-Pop girl group to perform at the according festival, while the local fans responded with a huge roar. Furthermore, plan cards written in Korean and bbyong bongs, which are BLACKPINK’s official lighting sticks, were spotted all over and proved BLACKPINK’s local popularity.

JENNIE stated, “We’re starting our North America tour in ‘The Forum’, Los Angeles. We will be so glad if you come to our concert” and added, “Performing here at ‘Coachella’ was a very meaningful event for us”. ROSÉ shared her heartwarming thoughts by adding, “You and I came from a different world, but music connected us as one. Thank you so much”. 

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is currently going through their North America tour and will meet their fans in Atlanta on May 5, and in Fort Worth on May 8.
