BLACKPINK to Hold ‘Kill This Love’ Dance Cover Contest… Biggest Scale in YG History
[OSEN=박진영 기자] BLACKPINK will hold the ‘Kill This Love’ DANCE COVER CONTEST in epic scale.
On April 12 at 2PM, YG Entertainment uploaded a poster notifying the ‘Kill This Loce’ DANCE COVER CONTEST WITH Kia, through their official blog.
The ‘Kill This Love’ DANCE COVER CONTEST’ will be held for 16 days from the 15th until the 30th, while 3 final winning teams will be announced on May 10. The first place winners will win 20 million, second place team will receive 6 million, and the team in third place will be given 4 million won.
The DANCE COVER CONTEST will be sponsored by Kia, the company which BLACKPINK represents for as the global brand ambassador. As it will be a large-scale event with total prizes adding up to 30 million won, the people are paying keen attention to the event.
The theme of the dance cover contest, the choreography for ‘Kill This Love’, was created by 4 world-famous choreographers and presents the most dynamic performance out of all songs released by BLACKPINK along with a high degree of completion. As the choreography for the song is popular among fans worldwide, active participation is expected.
The choreography video for ‘Kill This Love’ is skyrocketing in view counts and reached almost 20 million views today, in 4 days since the video was released. BLACKPINK unprecedentedly holds 5 MVs with over 100 million views, and their latest video is also forecasted to surpass 100 million views with the current popularity.
BLACKPINK has topped iTunes Song charts in 37 different regions of the world including the US. They set a milestone by topping the US iTunes Song chart for the first time as a Korean girl group.
After heading to the US, BLACKPINK will perform at Coachella Festival on the 13th at 12 Pm(KST). BLACKPINK’s performance will be streamed live through a billboard in Times Square, New York.
