The LA Times recently reported, “BLACKPINK’s performance at ‘Coachella’ will shine on a large-scale billboard with the nickname, ‘the beast’” and added, “The upcoming performance is raising the fans’ expectations”. They continued, “It is the first time YouTube will be live-streaming a ‘Coachella’ performance in Times Square, New York.
On April 12(local time), BLACKPINK will perform at ‘Coachella Festival’, the biggest music festival of the US, for the first time as a K-Pop girl group to start their promotional activities in the States.
The upcoming performance at ‘Coachella’, which holds a lot of meaning for BLACKPINK, will be streamed live in Times Square, New York and is expected to grab the people’s attention.
Times Square is one of the most crowded pedestrian crossroads of the world, and is also known as the center of the entertainment industry. BLACKPINK revealed their thoughts on the exciting news by stating, “Our dreams just came to reality. I hope many people will watch and enjoy our performance”. They also stated, “We feel a lot of responsibility on our upcoming performance” and added, “We would like to present a perfect performance”.

They also wrote another meaningful record by becoming the first K-Pop girl group to top the according chart.
Their MV also wrote a new world record as the most watched video on YouTube in the first 24 hours. Furthermore, video surpassed 100 million views in 2 days and 14 hours, surpassing MV records held by global Pop stars and musicians.
While spiking up in popularity, BLACKPINK will perform at ‘Coachella’ on April 12 and 19. The group will then begin their North America tour consisted of 8 concerts in 6 cities on the 17th, starting in Los Angeles.
