[OSEN=장진리기자] All tickets for BLACKPINK’s first-ever North America tour titled ‘BLACKPINK 2019 WORLD TOUR with KIA-IN YOUR AREA’ were sold out, proving the group’s dominant ticket power.

YG Entertainment (YG) revealed, “All tickets for 6 concerts in 6 cities including BLACKPINK’s concert in Los Angeles to be held on April 17, Chicago on April 24, Hamilton on April 27, Newark on May 1, Atlanta on May 5, and in Fort Worth on May 8 were all sold out” on the 22nd. All concerts are scheduled to be held in arena-scale venues with over 10,000 seats.

The fact that BLACKPINK is holding their first-ever world tour in arena-scale venues are impressive, but since selling all these tickets in an instant was unexpected at all, even the related concert officials are surprised. It proved BLACKPINK’s popularity as a ‘global girl group’, entering the US music market in success despite its high entry barrier. It is said that YG is considering to hold additional concerts, due to the fans’ heated support.

The MV for ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ released by BLACKPINK last year on June is currently at 670 million views, setting the best record in K-Pop boy and girl group history.

BLACKPINK is also the K-Pop group with the ‘greatest number of subscribers’ on YouTube, with 19.3 million subscribers. They received the ‘Diamond Creator Awards’ from YouTube for the first time as a K-Pop girl group last year on August.

The album ‘SQUARE UP’ and its title song ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ entered Billboard’s main charts including the ‘Billboard 200’ as no. 40 and the ‘Hot 100’ as no. 55 simultaneously, setting the highest rank record in K-Pop girl group history, in addition to being ranked on UK’s ‘Official Singles Chart Top 100′ for the first time as a K-Pop girl group.

After recently making an official step towards the global music market by signing with Interscope Records, BLACKPINK recently left a strong impression on the local public by appearing on famous TV programs including CBS’ ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’, ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’, and ‘Strahan and Sara’.

BLACKPINK will perform at the ‘Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival’ for the first time as K-Pop idols on April 12 and 19, notifying the start of their North America tour.
