‘YG TREASURE BOX’ Surpasses 51.5 Million Views in 6 Episodes… Number of Subscribers Increased by 3.7 Times

Today (23) at 10 AM, ‘YG TREASURE BOX’, the program to select YG’s next generation boy group that will follow the legacy of BIGBANG-WINNER-iKON, has surpassed a total of 51.5 million accumulated views and proved its global popularity.
Compared to the first episode that had 154,000 live viewers, the 6th episode reached 315,000 viewers which is almost double the original number of viewers on the first episode. As the show progresses, the Treasure Makers are showing more heated reactions by watching the main episode in real-time.
The total number of subscribers add up to 506,000 on YouTube, V LIVE, and Naver TV, which is 3.7 times more than the original number of 135,000 at the time of the first episode. The numbers prove the increasing popularity and influence of ‘YG TREASURE BOX’ among the public.
What helped the increase in popularity and interest on the program is the active participation of the Treasure Makers and the fierce competition among the trainees to become part of the debut group.
Furthermore, the tears and sweats of the trainees who are adapting to the unexpected missions and battles while smiling and crying raise curiosities on the next episode and touch the viewers’ hearts, to help the program become the center of attention.
On the 6th episode of ‘YG TREASURE BOX’, the 7 Treasures of the debut group were reduced to 6, noticing a fiercer competitive structure.
The trainees were given a ‘2:2-unit swap mission’, so the top 3 Treasures including BANG YE DAM, KIM JUNKYU, and HA YOONBIN selected unit members KEITA, MASHIHO, and KIM YEONGYU respectively. Eventually, SO JUNGHWAN was dropped out of the Treasure team and had to return to the regular trainee group.
WINNER who appeared as special judges chose units LEE BYOUNG GON-KIM SEUNGHOON, KIM DOYOUNG-KIL DOHWAN, and PARK JEONGWOO-HARUTO as the challengers that will face the debut group. They had to battle the Treasure 6 including BANG YE DAM-KEITA, KIM JUNGYU-MASHIHO, and HA YOONBIN-KIM YEONGYU with the ‘position swap battle’.
At the time, an unexpected rule was revealed. The 8 units who were not selected by WINNER had to go through a survival competition, while one member from the unit composed of 2 members had to drop out from the show. The unit trainees who practiced and worked together became foes to rivals in an instant.
As a result, unit YOSHINORI and MAHIRO got on stage as the performers of the first battle. The two-people battled each other in good faith, as they have trained in Japan together for a long time and were the closest friends throughout the program. The other trainees were holding their breath while watching them perform and shed tears. YOSHINORI survived, while MAHIRO had to drop out from the show.
While the fierce competition towards debut continued, the inevitable drop outs that will continue raised the curiosities of the trainees. As skilled rappers CHOI HYUN SUK and JUNG JUNHYUK will have to face each other due to a cruel fate, the viewers are paying keen attention on how the results will turn out.
