[DA:REVIEW] ‘YG TREASURE BOX’ MAHIRO, The First Dropout… A Tense Upheaval (COMPREHENSIVE)

On the 6th episode of ‘YG TREASURE BOX’ previewed on the 21st at 10 PM through Naver V LIVE (V App), the competition between the debut group members and additional challengers to take their spot continued. A 2:2-unit mission which will also cut the number of Treasures in the debut group to 6 people also began, notifying the beginning of a tense upheaval.
Representative producer YANG HYUN SUK selected KEITA and JANG YUNSEO as the additional challengers. KEITA battled HARUTO, while JANG YUNSEO battled KIM JUNKYU. JANG YUNSEO who revealed his special charms on the video mission as a trainee who’s trained for 5 months could not present his true talent during his battle with KIM JUN KYU and lost. Representative producer YANG HYUN SUK and the 100 Treasure Makers all selected KIM JUNKYU, allowing him to stay within the Treasure 7. HARUTO who battled KEITA selected the card with the decision by the 100 Treasure Makers, and the winner turned out to be KEITA. KEITA who said, “I can do it” achieved victory, while HARUTO had to shed tears of frustration.
Before the heat of the competition got away, representative producer YANG HYUN SUK notified a fiercer competition by stating, “I’ll choose 6 instead of 7 Treasures on the next competition”. The revealed mission was a 2:2-unit swap mission. The top 3 trainees with the most number of votes including BANG YE DAM, KIM JUNKYU, and HA YOONBIN had to select a unit member and the trainee who did not get selected had to become a regular trainee again.
BANG YE DAM, KIM YEONGYU, KIM JUNKYU, KEITA, HA YOONBIN, SO JUNGHWAN, and MASHIHO had time to explore each other while having a date at an amusement park. BANG YE DAM selected KEITA, KIM JUNKYU selected MASHIHO, and HA YOONBIN selected KIM YEONGYU as the unit partner. SO JUNGHWAN who did not get selected went back as a regular trainee, while being unable to hide his frustrations.
The trainees also received the same mission. A tense war of nerves began when they heard that only 3 teams can get an opportunity to get on stage after forming units of 2 people. Eventually, a total of 11 units including KIM DOYOUNG-KIL DOHWAN, KIM SEUNGHUN-LEE BYOUNG GON, KIM SUNGYEON-JANG YUNSEO, ASAHI-KANG SUKHWA, SO JUNGHWAN-LEE INHONG, WANG JYUNHAO-PARK JIHOON, YOSHINORI-MAHIRO, JUNG JUNHYUK-CHOI HYUNSUK, PARK JEONGWOO-HARUTO, YUN SIYUN-YOON JAEHYUK, and KOTARO-KIM JONGSUB were formed to start video evaluations. Members of WINNER who appeared on the show as special judges selected units LEE BYOUNG GON-KIM SEUNGHUN, KIM DOYOUNG-KIL DOHWAN, and PARK JEONGWOO-HARUTO as the units that will face the debut group.
However, that was not the end of the competition. The 8 units who did not get selected had to go through a survival race, and one of the two members from the unit had to drop out, flustering everyone. The trainees who worked hard together as a team now had to face each other as rivals, making everyone realize the cold-heartedness of survival programs.
Like a trick of fortune, YOSHINORI and MAHIRO got on stage first after the dropout stage began. As the two people who’s been training in Japan for the longest period had to battle each other, KEITA, HARUTO, and MASHIHO looked at the stage with their eyes red. Even representative producer YANG HYUN SUK praised the two trainees’ perfect harmony by stating, “The two people should make debut as one team”, but the moment eventually came. YOSHINORI survived, while MAHIRO became the first dropout of ‘YG TREASURE BOX’ and had to go back to his hometown, Japan.
As more dropouts of the show will be revealed next week along with the unit battles, the program is raising the curiosities of viewers. Since CHOI HYUN SUK and JUNG JUNHYUK, who are regarded as skilled rappers within ‘YG TREASURE BOX’ have formed a team, they now must battle each other and one of them must drop out from the program. The viewers are curious about the results.
