‘YG TREASURE BOX’ Surpasses 40 Million Views… Trainee Skills ‘Progressing Rapidly’
[일간스포츠=김연지 기자] ‘YG TREASURE BOX’ has surpassed 40 million views with the support from global fans.
‘YG TREASURE BOX’, the program to select members for YG’s next generation boy group, surpassed a total of 40 million views in 5 episodes through VLIVE and YouTube. The total accumulated views add up to 41.45 million views as of December 16 at 8 AM. The outstanding talent and challenge by the trainees heading for the debut group is receiving heated responses from many fans.
The 5th episode of ‘YG TREASURE BOX’ not only topped VLIVE’s daily comprehensive chart, but also charts in Japan, US, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, Spain, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore after its first broadcast on the 14th.
On the 5th episode, challengers CHOI HYUN SUK, KIM SEUNG HUN, YOSHINORI, and WANG JYUN HAO selected by BLACKPINK through the video evaluations battled the Treasure 7 for a ‘1:1 position swap’.
CHOI HYUN SUK who’s been training in YG for 3 years have joined Treasure A prior to the broadcast of ‘YG TREASURE BOX’, receiving high expectations. However, he could not join Treasure 7 after receiving bad reviews on recent monthly and year-end evaluations.
CHOI HYUN SUK battled SO JUNGHWAN, the dance positioned Treasure 7. However, YG’s representative producer YANG HYUN SUK chose SO JUNGHWAN, as he highly valued his future potential. CHOI HYUN SUK revealed his worries by stating, “I really want to make debut, but I’m worried I may not make it”.
KIM SEUNG HUN who did not make it to Treasure 7 challenged MASHIHO. MASHIHO revealed confidence by stating, “I’m confident since I practiced a lot”, while KIM SEUNG HUN responded, “I’ll win no matter what”. On the vocal battle between KIM SEUNG HUN and MASHIHO, MASHIHO became the final winner. Representative producer YANG HYUN SUK reviewed KIM SEUNG HUN’s performance by stating, “Like water overflows if you pour too much, you had too much emotions on today’s performance”. KIM SEUNG HUN shed tears while stating, “I always can’t make it to Treasure 7 even though it’s so close”.
BANG YE DAM was challenged by WANG JYUN HAO. While the other trainees avoided battling BANG YE DAM, WANG JYUN HAO showed his determination by stating, “I want to battle someone who’s very skilled, like BANG YE DAM”.
BANG YE DAM and WANG JYUN HAO decorated the stage with soulful vocals throughout the performance. Representative producer YANG HYUN SUK decided BANG YE DAM won while praising, “No artist can beat you if you sing like that”.
YOSHINORI had a rap battle with HA YOONBIN, but HA YOONBIN won. When the performances by the 5 challengers were finished, an announcement noticed additional challenges by the trainees on MASHIHO and KIM JUN KYU, gathering the attention of viewers.
Unlike existing debut survival programs, ‘YG TREASURE BOX’ reveals YG’s actual music producing know-hows and its internal system accumulated for the past 22 years, revealing the process of a new boy group being created without censorship.
‘YG TREASURE BOX’, composed of 10 episodes, pre-releases every Friday night at 10 PM through VLIVE and airs through JTBC2 and YouTube on the same night at 12 AM.
