[뉴스엔=황혜진 기자] YG TREASURE BOX’ surpassed 33 million views in just 4 episodes, receiving the heated spotlight from the public.

‘YG TREASURE BOX’, the boy group survival project to select members for YG’s new boy group following BIGBANG, WINNER, and iKON, have surpassed a total of 33 million accumulated views on YouTube and V LIVE in 4 episodes, proving its global popularity.

The show is currently dominating V LIVE’s daily video charts all around the world in countries including China, Philippines, Canada, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore. The program is reaching high view counts not only in Korea but also overseas in each continent, raising anticipation on the birth of the new global boy group.

The first debut group was born on the 4th episode of ‘YG TREASURE BOX’, aired on December 7. Trainees with both good appearances and talents including HARUTO, HA YOONBIN, SO JUNGHWAN, KIM JUNGYU, BANG YE DAM, PARK JEONGWOO, and MASHIHO were members of the first debut group. The 21 trainees who could not be part of the debut group had to select one member from the debut group to battle them 1:1 and take their spot, notifying a fierce competition system coming up.

Since only 5 members were to receive an opportunity to challenge a battle 1:1, the 21 trainees had to compete with videos presenting their individual charms. Members of BLACKPINK who appeared as special judges on the episode fell deeply for the trainees who showed off their various charms.

When CHOI HYUN SUK imitated a charming child while eating jelly, BLACKPINK looked surprised as they stated, “It’s our first time seeing this kind of specialty”. However, he presented unexpected charms by dancing to BIGBANG’s ‘GOOD BOY’, appealing his unique charms to the judges. WANG JYUNHAO from Taipei missed a beat while singing BLACKPINK’s ‘FOREVER YOUNG’ but made BLACKPINK cheer with his cute dance.

Furthermore, the signal song for the debut group titled ‘Going Crazy’ was revealed through the show. Although it was the debut group’s first performance in front of the treasure makers, they presented a perfect performance without a single flaw. The 21 trainees who couldn’t get on stage felt envy but determined to be part of the debut group.

After the debut group performance, the 1:1 battle of the 5 challengers selected by BLACKPINK and the members of the debut group started in front of the 100 treasure makers, consisted of employees of YG. KIM YEON GYU who was BLACKPINK’s first pick challenged PARK JEONG WOO and competed with BLACKPINK’s ‘STAY’. The two trainees of the same age battled each other passionately, while trainee KIM YEON GYU eventually took PARK JEONG WOO’s position after the evaluation by representative producer YANG HYUN SUK and 100 treasure makers.

The fierce competition between the remaining 4 trainees and debut group members were previewed on the end of the episode, raising expectations on the upcoming 5th episode.

Unlike existing debut survival programs, ‘YG TREASURE BOX’ will reveal YG’s actual music producing know-hows and its internal system accumulated for the past 22 years to present the birth of a new boy group without censorship.

‘YG TREASURE BOX’, consisted of a total of 10 episodes, pre-releases every Friday night at 10 PM through V LIVE (V App) and airs through JTBC2 and YouTube on the same night at 12 AM.
